Default Live on stage...

For 10 years I haven't gone to a rock concert, but yeah, this year it will happen again:

In June KISS comes to Germany once again and my husband and I've got tickets

Until now I've been on live concerts from Kiss, Saga, Gary Moore (wonderful!!), Pur and André Rieu. Actually, I wanted to visit Keith Urbans concert this year too, but unfortunately he cancelled his German tour, sigh.

What was the last concert you've visited?

My last live concert was in Leipzig, with REM . It was an indescribable event; 12000 people in the Leipzig Arena... so many people singing together, cheering the band on. And REM was incredibly good!!! Sigh... Before that I was at a ROXETTE concert (one of my favorite groups , I simply love them .) We heard Jethro Tull at Ferropolis and Brian Adams at an open air concert. I saw Veronica Fischer and Aurora Lacasa live, both were great as well .

I've seen
Richard Marx open air in Michigan
Backstreet Boys in Michigan (I did a friend a favor and went with her...)
Rammstein in Riesa - great show
Pink in Hannover
Die Ärzte in Hannover just three months ago - they played for three hours!!! (and the tickets where only about € 35).

I think that's about it. I've been to quite some musicals (Cats, Stomp, Falco meets Amadeus, Lion King) and comedians.
And so far, I have to say that musicals are my favorites...

Oh boy, it's been SO long since I visited a concert. More than 20 years, maybe even 22 or so because my older son Christian was a baby or toddler and we had to beg hubby's stupid stepmother to watch him because hubby had tickets for Mungo Jerry who visited Riesa (quite a sensation in East Germany, LOL).

I don't remember much, only that we had a bad seat in the hall the concert was held, but I didn't mind.

One of the BEST concerts I attended before I was even married was by one of the best East German rock bands, Electra, who were just amazing. Excellent singers (one of them even had classical training), brilliant musicians. Now I must ashamedly admit that I have no idea whether this band still exists or split up.

I friend of mine went on a concert with the Finnish rock band HIM in Leipzig in February and I was totally envious at her, LOL. Her son had given her the (money for the) ticket as a Christmas present. I met her this afternoon and she was still in awe, but she also told me that after the concert was over she was deaf for a couple minutes.

Edit: Rammstein in Riesa, Kahle???? My son was there too and he LIKED it! LOL, he borrowed the money for the ticket from a friend because he was so eager to go.

I just googled and they still exist and tour... They just released a DVD "35 years Electra"

Oh, that's good to know!
LOL, if only I had the money to buy this DVD now, but it can wait; there are more important things.

I've only been to a few concerts. The last one was my birthday present, and I went to see Katie Melua when she came to Finland a few years ago. It was totally worth it, although the Finnish audience was so stiff that I wanted to yell "oh come on, sing/dance a little", but they were just sitting and clapping there. But she was great, and I just love her voice.

The last concert I saw was in 2003....we saw the Journey/Styx/REO Speedwagon concert when they came to Detroit. We took our son for his 13th birthday (we call him 'retro-boy') and he wore the his dad's Journey shirt from their 1983 tour! Pretty cool. It was a fantastic concert!

Cool

This year The Police and U2 are coming to Manila. So I am forgoing Incubus and saving up for Sting and Bono instead.

I haven't been to many concerts and I don't even want to tell who's concerts that were! Ok, when I was about 9 or 10 (deeeeeeecades ago lol) I went to 2 David Hasselhoff concerts (He was so popular over here back then) and to 2 André Rieu concerts about 10 years ago.
I would love to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Celine Dion live. Celine is coming to Germany this year but I don't have about 200€ for about 2 or 3 hours of concert.
But I too saw the Lion King about a year ago and I loved it!

Kahle, one of my former colleagues saw the Ärzte in Hanover too ans she was totally impressed.

David Hasselhoff?? I'm sorry to laugh, but I had to laugh just a little. I guess his singing career wasn't all that famous here, so I only used to watch him in Baywatch (yes what a great series it was... )

Anna, I saw The Lion King musical too (I think I told you lol), and it was so great as well. Of course it was in Finnish, but the music is lovely anyway, and the actor who played Lumiere was just amazingly funny.

Edit: OMG I just realised that of course I didn't see The Lion King but The Beauty and the Beast. I wonder what's going on with my brain these days!!!! Anyway, I did enjoy The Beauty and the Beast obviously lol. And I'd love the see The Lion King, I think it looks amazing too.

Hasselhoff was only so popular as a "singer" because the media blowed it up so much, LOL. He has ZERO talent in this regard. When my oldest son was little we tuned in to watch "Knight Rider" sometimes.

But I never took him seriously as a singer. But don't worry, Anna, I'm in no way making fun of you. Honestly.

Man, I wish I could afford a ticket to see Celine Dion. Meanwhile I can only hope they show one of her concerts (old or new) on TV some time.

I haven't seen the Lion King musical yet. If I had the money, I'd love to travel where they show it. From what I've seen of it on TV it must be amazing.

AND I'd love to see Mamma Mia, We Will Rock You etc. one day.
