We recently began watching the fourth season, which fortunately was published with German dubbings a few weeks ago.
An at first blush decent, but now for me a bit annoying phenomenon is uprising in the show. You often see people in single eppies, who seem to be well known parts of the Walnot-Grove-community, who appear for one time and will never be seen again. That´s ok somehow, cause the ongoing storyline has to focus on the main characters, but it´s giving me a kind of distraction. At least it´s funny to watch the classroom with so inflationary kinds of pupil-compositions... ![]() But the Miss-Beetle-marriage-story stole the show in double sense. This was one of the best eppies so far in the fourth season, very touching and well told. I loved to see Nellie get a bit more warm-hearted. And of course I loved to see Miss Beetle fall in love with the farmer Simms. But what is this? The next eppy with Mary as a young teacher in a preachy ghost-town nearby mentioned the Walnot-Grove-teacher again as "Miss Beetle"? Huh? I can´t catch this forced "brain-washing" for the audience for the sake of simplifying the cast-network. Or was it just a commutation of the original eppy-sequence? ![]() And I deeply miss Mr. Edwards and his family!!!!

I agree, LHOTP is weird in this way. Something similar happens with the Reverend in season 6, if I remember correctly.

If the Germand distributors will be so kind to offer us the last seasons too, we will face this event.
![]() I must correct myself, one eppy later Miss Beetle is Mrs. Sims as she should be.

Oh, now I remember another weird event.
In one episode (season 6?) the girl who is Alicia (Mr Edward's daughter) has a different name and is a member of a totally different family.

I agree. Many people just seem to disappear after one episode. In fact, I think that Miss Beetle staying Mrs. Simms is one of the only things that happen this way. Most 'guest stars' don't stay for more than one episode.
I think I remember that thing with Alicia. I guess they just had to reuse an actress. They do that sometimes....
