Just kidding!
Jen, I must admit you are quite right with those things, I am eager to try new things (at least as long as they are not dangerous or sth.) and get very excited easily too. And I also (still) love my job!
I just hope that I am different from Horrace in all the other things.

I won't even try to make a list, I would fail miserably. I am not good with "watching" ppl and I could never see all those resemblances you guys see.
But I must say that everyone has done a great job. I do recognize the forum members in the characters.

Phew... I've been out of town again for a couple of days, have spent most of the night browsing all my late emails, fanfics, etc etc. not to mention stuff posted at The Other Place, and I'm opening this at past 05:05 am. This is one of the longest days of the year, and it shows: my shutters are half open, my window too. I've spent a few minutes on my balcony, oriented towards East, and admired a splendid view of a Moon crescent in the last quarter of its cycle, with a very shiny star at its right (which surely ain't a "star" but, considering its brightness, either Jupiter or Venus !) the temperature is a bit fresh but still nice, I'm hearing a lot of birds, already delivering their morning concerts... and I have just opened this a few minutes ago, so I'll skip others' opinions about me (Hank, Brian and Charlotte - what a weird trio, but about which I wholeheartedly agree after all!!! why not?) and please allow me to introduce myself* as the character I've always thought I was very close to: Dorothy. Always seeking for information, always compiling this information into archives for future reference (this, I think, could refer to my never-ending search for DQMW fan fiction...) and, in a more general way outside of the DQ world, very interested in the DWN (Daily World News). Who else could I be?

But I'll surely come back on this topic, for which I've voted as TOTW. Well, I'll try anyway. But this is a great idea!

Wow guys, this is such a cool thread!!!

Gemma! "Lindsay has so many things in common with Sully, if you have read Lindsay's fanfic it's so clear as she captures his personality. How she decyphers his silences and his feelings. And also your interest for history and analysing everything that happened through critical eyes, something Sully is doing too in the series rewriting history from a fairer point of view." (Gonna work on my quoting skills here.)

Gemma, you make me blush I think I've identifies a few traits with Michaela... her strength and desire to do what she wanted despite what is expected. That's why I love her, her strength, but I've always seen far more personality traits of mine shared with Sully and their mostly the ones you named! His quietness, preference for being alone and thinking, love of so many things, and his need not to make everyone see it his way. I've always been drawn to SUlly in those manners.

Ok, I want to do some for you guys! But I was horrified to realize just how little I feel like I know most of you, and that's not good. I need to be around far more often!!! I was really sad when I realized that, but I'm going to make that change. Anyway, I'll be back after work to work a little on my list! See you then!

Ok so, I spent all day at work thinking about this (not really, but it did take some consideration). You know, I'm a very odd person. I make weird associations with object. LIke I associate things like days of the week, books, and people with individual colors. So while I was trying to think of what character I associated with each of you, my association started with one word and then somehow linked that trait with a character. This word may come to my mind because of a conversation we might have had, or the vernacular that you use, or simple association with your avatar (which does happen). LIke I said earlier, I only felt comfortable making assertions about a few of you, but that number will grow. So let's start with...

Ella= The word I associate with you is elegant. Ok, so I partially believe this is because of your avatar, Jane's poise is very elegant in addition to the very proper clasp of the high neck of her blouse and the way her hair is fixed. However, that is much more to it than that. You are very solid in what you think and very articulate when expressing an opinion or a point of view. You may disagree, but I'm not sure I've ever seen you lose "the class" with which you post, so to me, you are Elizabeth Quinn

Doc= Wise. Have I ever mentions how I enjoy reading your posts? You always bring a new level to a discussion, never seeing just from the outside, but what's going on internally. Your reviews of characters are great and I believe it's because you have a unique opportunity to be able to understand them despite differences (well, as far as you can understand a fictional character). For this reason, I consider you to be a Cloud Dancing

Gemma=Wonder. I love talking with you. There is something about you that is just so fresh, the way you see things around you with a childlike sense of excitment. You're never too concerned about what people think of you, but you have your own causes your passionate about. You by no means naive, but you still hold an aura of innocence. To me you are Myra during the early years.

Sylvie= knowledgeable. I think I may be influenced by your post above, because I would say Dorothy as well. YOu have your own little niche in the DQ world and you went after it full fledge. You are probably more knowledgeable about fanfic than I will ever be and you constantly seek out more.

Kruemi= established. When I was first starting to write fanfics I considered you an "established" writer in teh field (in fact, I still do) You've been there done that, and yet your always there to give advice, which may largely be from your own experience. You're calming and always have an interesting look to things, and for that you will always be Charlotte Cooper

Tina=excitment. Ok, Tina when I think of you I see you bouncing off the walls. You're so witty and funny and love to do so many things that I couldn't help but seeing you as Little Brian Cooper It's just you.

So there you have it guys, that's what I have right now! Do you agree, or not?

Wow, that is so cool to read. I find myself nodding again. I totally see what you mean. The words are good associations I think.

And funny that you would say that you were thinking about this at work, because sometimes my mind drifts away and a thought about this cross my mind in the middle of something completely different. Today I thought of....

Lynn! Lynn is Black Kettle! She is a person with few words, but when she says them, they say it ALL, and it makes perfect sense!

I also thought of...

Mireille! I imagine a warm, kind person, loves kids and animals and cares for her friends, and lots of people feel very welcome at her house. A Charlotte! I have no idea if this is true, it's just my imagination.

And...

Kruemi! I think you are a Daniel with features of Dorothy and someone else which I haven't decided yet .
Anyway, Daniel is veeery kind, helpful and true to the friends that are his friends back. And Dorothy for her writing. That other someone is someone who likes to discuss different matters and share opinions. Sort of Preston in a good way!

Wow this is great! It's fun to read how others think you are in RL.
I’ll try to make a list too.

But if you had to pick a character yourself, who would it be???

Jen. Thank you for your comparison to Grace, it would have been obvious that I looked like Grace, because she has her own restaurant and I work in one . But the argument you gave made me think, and you know what you are right!!
When I care for people I’m willing to do allot. I’m always the one arranging special birthday gifts. A friend of mine turned 50 a few weeks back and I bought 5 (1 for every 10 years) wishballoons and put wishes on all of them. If I can make the people who stand near to me happy, I’m willing to go very far. But sometimes get hurt along the way……Just like Grace.

Sophy I never pictured myself like Charlotte but yes you have a point. Everyone is welcome in my home. And if they need a shoulder I’m there for them. And I adore kids!!!! When I see one no matter how old, my face lights up. Too bad I never finished my study for it. Oh well, Cest la vie.

Although I don't have the time, I just took it to read this thread - and it had me laughing out a lot . Jen, I know that you like Dorothy, and that's why I can make myself kinda accept the comparison (as you know, I don't like her at all - and I sure hope I'm a better friend than her ). Lindsay, thanks for seing me as a version of Charlotte - I like her very much (but I don't see myself as an established writer ). And Sophy - I always liked Daniel, so I think it is nice you see some of his features in me ... Unfortunately I will only be able to give this thread a try once I am done with my current story. I'm sorry if this always sounds like an excuse, but when I allow myself to come here to the Café and not only read but actually participate, several hours are gone like nothing... I guess you all know what I mean . So I'm still just a lurker and reader for a while. Sigh.

Good thread:
What about ZACK combined with Lene? Because of that artistic talent?
Maybe Lene is like a little "showbag" with contents of different arts?

And no body like me like David in teh serie? Hehe, no seriously, with you description that is ok, I accept it You could also add about deisappearing and pop-up suddently when no one is thinking to see me too (not for the same reason ans David, but since I'm by moment offline without prevent and back few month later when the medical issue are away in ym family).

That is a pount interesting for Gemma, on ym side, for the side I learn more about her while talking to her some moments, I would put maybe Marjorie, when she come back in CS, stronger and knowign what she want, she was with the Ladies and try to change the thing in town. I see a similar personality as the political situation for the Catalan and she stay stronght with her position and have lot of passion when she was talking about the situation.

Cheryl, have you ever thought of becoming a doctor??

How did I miss this thread all this time? You are so sweet Amber. Can’t say I’ve ever thought of becoming a doctor. I’ve always wanted to be one of two things—a teacher or a writer. As a mom, I’ll always be a teacher, so I guess I’m lucky to have worked both of my childhood dreams into my life.

My feminist side is a lot tamer than it used to be. Scary isn’t it? Though I’m in good company with Sadie.

I’ll have to come back to this thread now that I know it’s here and add my thoughts.

Thanks ladies!
