I read it too, Jenni, and was sad, too. She was my favourite 'golden' girl.

She was my favourite from Golden Girls too, Ella. I've been trying to think why, because all the others were so great too. But I always came to like Dorothy the best. Maybe it's got something to do with natural charism and the mixture of sarcasm and warmth her character had. Whatever it is, she definitely brought joy to so many people over the years that that alone is a great legacy to leave for future generations. And Golden Girls is such a wonderful show...it's the best medicine if you're every having a bad day.

I felt so sad when I heard that Bea Arthur died...I had no idea she was almost 87 yrs. old. I remember seeing her years ago in "Maude", and then, of course, in Golden Girls. She will always be a beloved memory of my TV show past...

I know what you mean, Amber. Golden Girls sort of feels so timeless that I keep forgetting it was not exactly made yesterday. I've just started with season 4 and they just keep getting better and better. They don't make shows like this anymore.

Can't remember if there were many (or any) fans of Emma Thompson here. But after seeing Last Chance Harvey, I've really been in one of my Emma-Thompson-is-one-of-the-best-things-that-came-out-of-Britain moods again. Anyway, if people who like her haven't seen this David Letterman interview yet, you certainly should. It's guaranteed to make you laugh a lot, and well, her entrance has to be one of the best ones ever to a talk show. (On a sidenote, apparently some woman had claimed that a fox attacked her and she had to fight with it...some really weird story this woman kept telling in different talk shows. Edit: aha...here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZfsAykwyS4&feature=fvw Before Emma's turn came up, someone gave her that fox toy..you'll see. haha
).http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He52mBPRnVI part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sv4n4...eature=related part 2 To have such a nice general British accent...or even half of her wit and hilariousness.

Thanks for posting this Jen, I like Emma Thompson very much. Specially those films with Kenneth Brannagh too, you know how crazy I am about screen couples.
Hey, about Emma Thompson, I just discovered the series in which she met Kenneth Brannagh and fell in love, the whole series is on youtube. I had always heard about a series they had made together and I thought it was a British soap opera, but it isn't it's about the war and it's called Fortunes of War and here you are, the first part. I strongly recommend it, it's about WWII and two British expatriates in Rumania: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cPYna17tkQ They also appeared together in the series starred by Emma called Thompson, here you've got a clip too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVC6M2eQytg

Thank you for the links, Gemma! I will watch them as soon as possible. I had heard about that series, so I'm looking forward to watching it very much.
