I currently have Santa Maria by the Gotan Project in my head!!

I heard it on the Richard Gere film 'Shall we dance' (which also has Tony Dovolani in it!) and I love it - It is a real Tango song!!

xXx

p.s. if anyone does not know any of the songs mentioned here you can listen to I would guess 'MOST' of them at www.projectplaylist.com a great site!!

I like a few songs by Mary J. Blige, but I haven't heard so many of them.

Today I've been listening to Amy MacDonald. Amazing singer, reminds me a lot of the singer of The Cranberries.

A Wish for Something More - Amy MacDonald I think this could make a good Colleen & Andrew video. I've been looking for a song for them for ages!

Default it must be jPop

I am listening to Final Distance by Utada Hikaru. My friend Jonathan knew the other jPop artists that I like and recommended her to me so I picked up her Single Collection Vol. 1 from iTunes and I am so glad I did. Wow! She has a beautiful voice and ranges from dance to romance . I recommend it highly.

Kurt

P.S. I write slowly so now it is Nothing's Gonna Change by BoA from Listen to My Heart. Not to be confused with the UK band Boa, which is a really good band too. This is the Korean artist who also performs in Japanese. Very talented lady. One of my favorites.

Well if I don't stop typing I will have to add the next song too.

After i posted I realized that the Banana is in time with the next song to come on Happiness by BoA. Now that is funny!

I remember you mentioning this artist, Kurt. And fortunately her music is available at itunes-Germany meanwhile too.
As far as I can see, her songs are completely in Japanese. Although I like the sound of this language much, is there an English version listed at the US-itunes-store?

Glenn Miller - love him!

Reminds me of Udo Lindenberg, a German rock-singer, who created a new version of Chattanooga Choo Choo, "Sonderzug nach Pankow" (special train to Pankow). Pankow is a part of Berlin and this song was dedicated humorously to the former chief of the German Democratic Republic, Erich Honecker. This version is famous in Germany, cause it reflected the mood of the divided parts of my country perfectly. A bit OT, I think.

Default Glenn Miller vs. jPop ;)

Doc,

I do not believe that there are any Utada Hikaru songs on iTunes that are in English unless, of course, they happen to have Simple and Clean, which is an English version of Hikari. That song was made in English as the main theme for an anime show, so they may actually have it.

Simple and Clean is a good English version, however I have to say that the BoA songs that are in English don't translate well and are hard to understand, and "English is my mother tongue and stuff" - A paraphrased quote from the movie The Sure Thing.

BTW I like Glenn Miller a lot too. I have not heard KT Turnstall though, so I guess I will have to listen to some of her stuff, since everyone here likes her.

Thanks again for making this site. I am enjoying posting here and playing the games.

Kurt
