Yay, Geertrui!

I saw the BBC series first too, but that was only last autumn. I always heard people talking about it, so I decided I should check it out myself. And I had planned to read Pride and Prejudice ages ago, but I was always too "busy" doing something else. When I finally read it some months ago, I instantly fell in love with Jane Austen's use of language. Just brilliantly funny and clever.

And Mr. DArcy and Elisabeth. Aw! As you said, their chemistry is great.

I love Jane Austen's use of language as well. No one can achieve that way of writing IMO.

As I early said, I read the book for the first time for school. We had to present the book and our review for classes. Afterwards the teacher asked me: "Dou you really like the book?". I told her that I do and that I liked her manner of writing. She was so surprised! She thought it old-fashioned... Well, I don't agree.

Hehe that's cool. Maybe in some ways it's a bit old-fashioned language. But I think the use of irony Jane Austen masters in the novel is timeless and works just as well in modern day as it used to at her own time. That's what really got me hooked in the first place anyway.
