Hello guys! I've been tooling around the forum for a few weeks now, but I haven't had a lot of time to post alot. I finally found a few seconds today and I decided to post some links to some stories I've been working on this summer! So here you have it:
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4255465/1/Whats_in_a_Corset A little snippy telling the true story about the first time Sully helped Michaela "outta that rig" ![]() http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4265064/..._We_May_Forget This story centers around David returning to Michaela's life much earlier. Think 1st season, before Happy Birthda. Before Sully and Michaela have even spoken of their developing relationship. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4304574/...thers_Blessing This is my work in progress at the moment. It explores what would have happened if Joseph were actually alive and how he would react to Michaela's new life with her husband and children. Update (08-26-2008): http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4419065/1/Not_as_Big Essentially a one shot after Michaela returns home in The Abduction. It explores how she has changed in the eyes of her family. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4428117/1/Home More or less an alternate ending to WTHI. It deals with Sully's feelings after he has professed his love. He wants nothing more than to return to his mountains and lick his wounds in private, but when something devastating happens he finds himself returning to Michaela's bedside. Ok, so there you have it. If you happen to read one of them please let me know what you think!

Well, as you know I've read /am reading all our stories and I love them
. Not only do you stay true to the characters but your writing style is great. The corset story made me laugh out loud - that's something that doesn't happen very often. I hope I will read a lot more from you!!!!

Kruemi, you make me
. Thank you for your kind words. When I started writing, I thought I was doing it for my own enjoyment. How much fun would it be to get what's in my head on paper. I never realized how much I truly would love hearing from everybody that happened to come across a story. I'm glad your enjoying it!Oh, and thank you for not leaving my thread emtpy. Posting the thread to yourself, or your own work and then not having anything else replied in it was a little embarrassing!

Ok so I finally found the opportunity to update the list here. Father's Blessing has been complete for a while as well as Not as Big, which is essentially a one shot after Michaela returns home in The Abduction. It explores how she has changed in the eyes of her family.
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4419065/1/Not_as_Big My latest work in progress is Home, which is more or less an alternate ending to WTHI. It deals with Sully's feelings after he has professed his love. He wants nothing more than to return to his moutains and lick his wounds in private, but when something devestating happens he finds himself returning to Michaela's bedside. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4428117/1/Home

Hey Lindsay,
thanks for sharing your newest fanfictions. (I'm going to update your first post later, so that all ffs are on one place). I don't read a lot of ff ( ), but Kruemi recommended your's so much that I intend to read one or another. Usually I only tell people after I have read their story, but just to let you know that this thread is not ignored, I make an exception and hope that I can keep my promise soon. (First I have to read Kruemi's last story. Kruemi! I'm going to print the rest of it right now, which is a start. )Btw: I think, it's a good idea for writers to recommend one of their own stories to begin with. Just for people, who want to read something and don't know where to start (like me). (It's also interesting to get to know what people think of their own stories, which one was the best, which do they like most, which was most difficult to write, .... )Oh, and btw (Lindsay, sorry that I'm using your thread here), maybe there are people here on the board, who have already commented on stories somewhere else (fanfiction.net, etc ), and hesitate to write a comment here again, because they think a writer already knows about their opinion. But don't forget that people on this board might be interested to hear what people have to say about a certain story, read the comments and then decide to read the story themselves. Not all people here read the comments on stories 'somewhere else'. ![]() Comments are for the writer in the first place, but I also see them as informations and recommendations for other potential readers.

I'm glad you posted this, Ella. I agree with what you said.
I'm sorry Lindsay that I haven't read any of your stories yet. I guess I am the same as Ella: I actually had never read any fan fiction until a few months ago. Now that I've read my first ever fan fiction story, I feel like I want to read some more when time allows! Thank you for posting your stories here (and all the other writers here on this forum as well). This will help me to decide which story to start the next time I have a chance to read something else than study books...

I'm one of those who already commented on Lindsay's stories (on each single one because I like them all
) , but I can see your point, Ella . So, why do I like Lindsay's stories? They are very well written and never fail to surprise me. I enjoy reading them although they are not always good for my blood pressure (especially her newest one, Home ) because you can never be sure of the outcome .Quote:

Oh wow, so I leave for school and I come back and there are so many comments on this thread.
I have to say I was beginning to get discouraged. ( not really, but do I get the sympathy vote now? ) Ella, I think you made some really good points in your post. I'll look forward to "hearing" what you think, but take the time to enjoy Kruemi's. It's definately worth it. (Oh, and as far as the links went, I was going to add them to the top, but the edit button disappeared on me. )Jen, I hope you enjoy what ever story you decide to take on next!! Kruemi, who need's good blood pressure anyway? Oh, and thank you for advertising for me sort of.As for my opinion on my stories... huh (I'll let anyone interject if they wish) If your not a big fanfic reader, or you don't have a lot of time I would suggest What's in a Corset it's short and sweet and relatively funny (I would like to think so at least). It's very lighthearted with not alot of emotional stress, and of course I enjoyed writing the honeymoon thoughts and actions. ( totally PG rated, thought) My personal favorite was If We Try, We May Forget. I enjoy it because it was set in the first season which is around my favorite time of the series and I think it has an episode feel to it. There's and underlying plot that involves both the Cheyenne and Custer, but it doesn't take too much prominance over what's happening in the foreground. Also, I enjoyed writing alot of flashbacks centering around who Michaela was before she came to CS, and how her relationship with David worked verses how she relates to Sully. Yea, I think it's definatly my favorite. ![]() As far as most difficult... well, Not as Big was in no way the easiest one. It dealt with a really somewhat emotional subject after Michaela is abducted. It was a tedious task trying to get each thought and feeling all the children and Sully would have been feeling as well as the physical discomfort Michaela was in, but there turned out to be some wonderful tender moments that came from it all. Home was difficult as well, but that has a little more graphics in it than anything else. However, there is a rewrite of the train scene in WTHI that turned out great. Ok, so I already talked about 4 of the 5. (I'm not sure if this is what you were thinking about Ella or not) I'm going to go ahead and mention the last one! I can't help it I love them all! A Father's Blessing is a great after the series ended fic, imo. For me it's not really because of the plot of the story but because of Mike and Sully's children. Their girls were absolutely adorable and a shear joy to write. There are also a few wonderful tender moments between M and S as well, as well as the opportunity to explore seeing how Sully and Joseph would have interacted had they ever met. Ok, so that's my completely biased opinion. Hope it helped!

Oh, thank you so much Lindsay. This was exactly what I was thinking about.
The description of the content of a story is important too of couse, and completely enough for ff.net, but it's absolutely interesting to have a few 'background informations' on a forum like this. So, I think this was very helpful, Lindsay. ![]() And, btw, don't become discouraged: this forum is just not a very big one and I have the feeling one with not that many ff-readers, so there can not be as many replys as somewhere else. I hope you will keep us updated nevertheless. ![]() Oh and be assured, when I decide to read a story, then it is not because I want to do the writer a favour, but myself. ![]() I'm just an awfully slow reader. (I'm an awfully slow writer too. )

Thank you for the descriptions, Lindsay! It was interesting to hear which aspects of your stories you liked the most. I think I'll start with the short one first. It sounds like fun!
It might take me a while (could you believe I'm still reading the same book I started about two months ago... ), but once I get going, I'll let you know what I thought.

It was good to hear from you two! I'm glad the descriptions helped a bit. Once I started typing it was hard to nail down exactly what I like about each piece!
Don't worry as long as I'm here, I'll continue to post links. In fact there is a new one that I need to get on here in the next few days... Hope all is going well!

Hey guys, so I finally took the time to copy and paste my new story. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4490397/1/Open_Arms
It's going to be a rather long piece, and I'm only making a dent in it. The story is in four parts and sort of explores Michaela's life after her mother dies when she's four. She has quite the remarkable childhood being raised by a single father in the 1840s. As she grows and develops she makes long lasting friendships. Interesting side note, that part 4 will be loosely based on the experiences of Dr. Mary Edwards Walker during the American Civil War. If your interested about Dr. Wallker, I'd love to tell you about her, she was absolutely fascinating!
