Default Vacation/Trip destinations - experiences to share

I thought this would be a good place to share general experiences from trips and vacations and a place to ask questions about different travel destinations.

My first question is about special events in Berlin. I know there are many Germans on this forum - is there a good information site on Internet about special events taking place in Berlin during the year?
I mean, if I were to travel to Berlin say in June... is there a good way to find out what is going on in the city at the specific time somewhere on the Internet?

I´m not at all a Berlin-expert - I visited the town twice, the first time, when I was a teenager and the second time in the late eighties, shortly before the two German states got together.
Berlin has many and not only historical attractions. So its´worth all the time for a visit.

I found an English link for Berlin:

Great doc! Through your link I found this part of the website:
http://www.berlin.de/english/enterta...nts/index.html

It lists events!

More suggestions are welcome if anyone reads this!

I have a friend living in Berlin, so if you will go there at a certain time, I can ask him for insider tips .

I've been to Berlin twice and I LOVED it... There's so much to see, and the city just smells of history! I've had a great time, both times I was there. I went to the Zoo near the Gedachtniskirche, Kurfurstendam, Agyptischen Museum in Charlottenburg, etc. etc. Loved pretty much everything I saw there!

It's not actually me who's going, it's a friend who wants to know

She's going there 14-17 June.

It would be GREAT if you could check with your friend what events that might take place at that time.

Okay, will do that - do you look for something in particular? Concerts, exhibitions and such??

About 4 years ago we took a vacation to Hershey Pennsylvania, we had a great time there is so much to do, Hershey Chocolate World, The Hershey amusement park, zoo, just driving around the town is so charming all you can smell is chocolate, the streets are named after chocolate, the street lights are Hershey Kisses, and then you are only about 1/2 hour from the Pennsylvania Dutch country with their simple way of life and the cute little shops and resturants. I recommend it to all.

Concerts and exhibitions sounds good! And other things too. Whatever sounds "special".

Yes! I'm so excited! And nervous, because I'm going to fly... for the second time in my life... I'm busy packing at the moment. I'm afraid I'll forget important things! Gaah! Holiday stress... yay...

Edit: I'd just wish they'd stop with the bombings already! A few weeks ago one in Torremolinos (and that's where I'm going) and today another one in Gualdamar near Malaga (only 10 miles from where I'm going)... This is NOT funny...

We're going to Spain in two weeks. With all the bombings I often have a uneasy feeling when I'm on the beach. And I ever put down my beach towel far, far away from every dust bin!

Wow, that's scary. I hadn't heard anything about it because I'm watching Olympic Games as soon as I walk into the living room.
I hope it won't happen again so both of you can have a relaxed holiday!

Same here, I neglect the news the last days due to the Olympics

I truly hope that the bombings stops so that you have a relaxed holiday!
