Jim Knobeloch in Knowing:
For those who've seen the new movie "Knowing", has anyone noticed that Jim Knobeloch (Jake Slicker) was in it? I just recently found out. When I saw the movie in theaters, I didn't see him at all. He must have had a very small role. On IMDB it says he plays a Army General. I gotta watch the movie again and pay more attention...I wanna see him, it's so cool he's in this film.

Interesting. I never saw "Knowing", here in Germany the dvd will be released in August. It´s awesome to see the DQMW-cast in other productions, at least I have to remember then, that they are actors and not townies...
I´ll definitely watch out too for Jim Knobeloch in this movie.

Maybe he was a 'victim' of film editing.
![]() Too bad that he only play such tiny roles. I thought he was good in King Kong. It wasn't a huge part either, but in my opinion Jim Knobeloch has something. He is a special type; one you don't see very often, and I wonder why he doesn't appear more often on screen or in movies.

Wow that's soon, I might just get the DVD; thought the film was interesting and entertaining and I'd be able to see Jim in it, hopefully I'd be able to spot him.
You think so? I don't hope so, there are some other actors in the movie where it says they're uncredited, so at least Jim has a better chance having been included in the movie than them, I would think. I know, it's sad. I wonder how many auditions he attends every year...At least I know now that he got involved with "Knowing" because the film was mainly shot in Australia and that's where Jim currently lives.

Jim Knobeloch´s divorce with Beth Sullivan is kinda gloomy for me, although it´s not my concern. It´s always illuminating for me to see celebrities in a stable relationship and I tend to interweave my sparse knowledge about their private lives with my perception of their roles. So Jake Slicker isn´t the same Slicker any more...

He was married to Beth Sullivan? I didn't know that!
Did he have any other big roles apart from DQ? I can't remember seeing him in anything... |

I read somwhere that Jim and Beth were living in Australia. Can it be that I listened to it in the audiocommentary? They've got twins together. It's a pity they got divorced, I think they made a wonderful couple.
Oh, I haven't watched this movie. Thanks for telling us. I will check it. I always wanted to know if Jim played the concertina in DQ, if he was actually playing. I think it could be possible as he is playing it in various occasions, like if it was something natural. What do you think?

I would like to think so.
I think Ella told me a long time ago, that Jim Knobeloch made the homestead-drawing in "A New Beginning" by himself, so he is artificially gifted perhaps in many respects.

From what I have heard, I have no personel knowledge, that Jim and Beth married during the show and Jane and James hosted their wedding at their home. I also heard that the car accident was the cause of their split

Perhaps my memory mixed this up.
Never heard of a car accident. Could you tell more, Lynn?

I checked with Mary Ann so I would be accurate and not just spread gossip. This is her account and great pictures of the quilt on that link
In 2002 Beth moved with her husband Jim Knobeloch and children Tess and Jack to Australia so that she could co-produce Ponderosa a prequel to Bonanza. Beth and Jim were driving home from a party one night when Jim swerved to avoid an animal ( like a kangaroo.) that suddenly shot out into the road. They hit a tree head on. Jim broke his wrist but Beth got the brunt of the damage suffering a broken back. She luckily was given cutting edge surgery by one of the only physicians in the world capable of doing such surgery who happened to be in the hospital she was taken to. The surgery involved actually building a cage around her spine to help it heal. Beth went through years of physiotherapy and is now doing well and is back in the US with her two children living in California. Below is a link explaining the DQ fan reaction to hearing of the accident. The entire story in Beth's own words was covered in an interview done by the DQ Times in the final issue. http://www.thedqtimes.com/pages/cast...tphotopage.htm I mentioned Beth's car accident in a discussion on Grace's Cafe about Jim K. Could you give me info to share some have never heard about it. I remember being told it was a series accident that injured Beth so she needed a long time to heal. Am I right is there more I should share. I don't want to spread gossip or errors -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Summer concert season is here! Thank you very much, Lynn, for the detailed information. It´s very sad to read this from many viewpoints.

This quilt is gorgeous, and it's such a touching gesture. Thank you very much, Lynn, for this information and that you asked Mary Ann.
I didn't know about that accident in detail, only that something happened.
